Cerritos, California - Cerritos City Manager Art Gallucci is struggling to explain why he authorized an almost $50,000 salary increase for the Assistant City Clerk. This striking salary increase only came to light when an anonymous memo was sent to "All City Employees and City Councilmembers", under the subject line "Ensuring Transparency in Employee Promotions and Salary Survey." The memo is dated May 10, 2023 and is from "An Extremely Dissatisfied and Disheartened Employee."  A Mysterious Memo The memo alleges that City Clerk Vida Barone influenced two councilmembers (Mayor Bruce Barrows and Councilmember Chuong Vo) to instruct Gallucci to authorize the increase.
